Through Isaiah 66

11:00 a.m.

Good morning, and I trust that God blesses you, as you seek to walk in His will today.

In my reading recently, I was blessed with Isaiah 66:5:

Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at His Word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for My Name’s sake, said, “Let the LORD be glorified”: but He shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

I take no joy in the awareness of how people feel about Faith Assembly, who thought it was to God’s glory that they left, and disassociated themselves from this work, fifteen years ago now; and then, another disassociation occurring this summer. But, I do know where we stand on the Word of God, and I wouldn’t trade places for the world!

God is no respecter of persons; only a respecter of His Word. People have departed for many different reasons: they love the pleasures of this world; they seek material gain; they cannot endure faith trials or delayed manifestations, especially if it involves physical pain or deprivation; they want to be part of a popular religious work, where they can be surrounded by pretty faces, and enjoy life as they please, without questions being raised; but, the idea of “...tremble at His Word,” is foreign to their minds.

Occasionally, however, I hear a cry in the darkness. There are people out there God is calling, who recognize the truth of the message they received, and really want to come back and be part of the urgent message of being prepared for the Lord’s return. All I can say is, God, be merciful to all those who seek Thee. Gather Your people from wherever they may be scattered, and let them find the place where You want to plant them, and be part of the work You choose. My concern is not whether they attend Faith Assembly specifically, or some other work that is standing firm; but, let that hunger and thirst after righteousness be satisfied!

Through Isaiah 59

2:20 p.m.

Well, in case you wondered, I have not dropped out of life, but certainly I have been a lot busier than I ever imagined I would be after leaving Faith Ministries. Digitizing alone is more than just putting a tape in and waiting for it to play, to create the original file. It involves optimizing the sound, occasional spot editing, converting to MP3, entering title and other information into the file header, so it will appear when the MP3 file is played. Then I have to make sure all my files are updated of which tapes I’ve digitized, together with the final playing times. Finally, I update the web listing of digitized messages. If I do not do those steps each time, I suddenly find myself with a major chore of catching up.

If digitizing were not enough, I have resumed teaching Greek, plus I am now teaching Systematic Theology on Sunday evenings, following Greek class. I am also involved in a labor of love project with a family member two nights a week. So, blogging just doesn’t rate that high a priority, generally. This being Wednesday, I better get off here and work on the notes for tonight’s teaching from Psalm 119:49–56, the Zayin section.
