Through all of Song of Solomon
7:30 p.m.
Life goes on. I thank God for helping me work through two mechanical repair jobs
in the past several weeks. I enjoy mechanical work, but getting parts was always
the big problem. I found a place online where I can get parts, and I was able to
get our good Simplicity riding mower running again, and also our Weed-Eater
trimmer. It saved us a lot of money for labor, compared to taking them to a
repair shop. I had some scary moments with my computer at the office a couple
weeks ago, also, not being able to connect to the internet; which, as it turned
out was a software problem that affected many users all over the world! One of
Microsoft's regular updates conflicted with a popular firewall utility, but
already by the time I found out, there was an update to the firewall to correct
the problem. I still struggle with personal failings, that I pray God keeps
working in me to enable me to overcome. Through it all, I am so grateful that I
am saved, no depending on my works, but by the work Jesus has done for me.

Through Ecclesiastes 5
(No time stamp)
A little late, but there were some changes to
the web site. Nothing that should make any difference to you all, but for me to
make changes, I have to use a new address to access and edit the web site.
The last month included a number of serious experiences. My
wife’s father went to be with the Lord just before our scheduled vacation, so my
wife was unable to come on vacation, plus we took an evening and the entire
following day to travel from Cincinnati, where we had visited the Creation
Museum, to Larwill to spend the night, then up early the next morning to travel
from Larwill to Detroit for the funeral, then from Detroit back to Mammoth Cave
National Park to resume our vacation. However, our vacation really went quite
well, and my wife probably had more relaxation than the rest of us, because she
stayed with her mother through the difficult time, but with little
responsibility other than making sure her mother had everything she needed in
terms of love and care.
In the midst of all this, we learned of the passing of Bruce
Kinsey, husband of Sister Kathy Kinsey, who actually owns Faith Ministries and
Publications. Certainly the burden Sister Kinsey must bear in losing her
companion is more difficult than the burden of my wife or myself in the loss of
my wife’s father. We are all comforted in knowing that our loved ones made sure
of their relationship with the Lord before they passed away, so we can rest in
knowing they are with Jesus.
As a result of the passing of my father-in-law, it seemed for
a time that our family had the prospect of providing long term care for her
mother. This would have involved some major changes and adjustments, and we were
concerned about being responsible for her medical needs in light of our own
convictions not to be involved with medical science. It all worked out very
quickly when a further medical procedure was taken, which forced a need for
immediate long term constant attention that we could not possibly provide, and my
wife and her sister and brothers all agreed she should be moved into another section of the
retirement center where she has been these past several years. So, the Lord knew
the solution before we did, although I do not believe it was in line with His
revealed will for the procedure to be done that caused the situation to come to
a sudden head.
Well, this will be enough for this time. It is better to
trust in the Lord than in man!
