Be sober and vigilant!
{I Peter 5:8-11} Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Website changes
In going through this web, to give it a sort of “annual cleanup,” I decided to eliminate some of the old pages not really related to the church itself, and also to delete all pictures. I am not opposed to photographs or photography, but I am focused on the purpose for this web site: to inform people about Faith Assembly news and activities, and to share in the Pastor’s Blog, as the Lord puts things on my heart. I will keep the old blog pages, so the text of each main blog page will be available. But unrelated pages, and their links, have been deleted. This change mainly affects some of the early blog pages. Also, I am not continuing to archive the old news pages, so they have also been removed. I’ve checked all the hyperlinks, and all are verified working at this time.
Present teachings at Faith Assembly
We have three series of teachings currently in progress at Faith Assembly. Messages not part of these series may be inserted occasionally as the Lord directs.
Sunday morning: The New War of Media and Technology
A critically important series, going beyond the “We don’t watch television or movies” mentality. The media have inundated society with a cesspool of filth, and Christians need to warned how the media use baits and hooks to ensnare and bring us into their power. We also need to know how the media may be used for good purposes, if done with care, to avoid compromising the message.
Sunday evening: Systematic Theology 501
Studying the doctrines of the Bible in a systematic way. Currently (February 2010) in the doctrine of God as Son
Wednesday evening: Pearls from Proverbs
Resuming and bring through to completion, Lord willing, an in-depth study of Proverbs
